Here we answer the most frequently asked questions.

Design phase

Are all materials possible?

Not all materials are possible, but many are! We can coordinate this with you and in some cases we can even make a better suggestion for your application; a material you had not thought of yourself.

Can you make any suggestions, which material is most suitable for a particular application?

Because of our experience, but also because of the experience of the engineers of the factory, we can think along about the most suitable material and also about the most suitable production process.

Can you help create a better design that is therefore easier or cheaper to produce?

Our team can help you to further develop your product or make suggestions that can help you to come up with the best design for your product. For this, of course, we need input on the project at hand in order to give a good and appropriate advice.

What information of a part do you need when requesting a quote?

To prepare a quotation we prefer to work with a complete specification of the desired product; a 2D drawing with dimensions and tolerances and a 3D drawing (STP. File). If there are specific wishes for the finish, the surface treatment or the packaging, we can also take these into account in the quotation.

Sample process

Can you also make samples prior to mass production?

Yes, before final mass production is initiated, we will make a sample for approval. This sample will be used as a reference/measure for the final production. This sample is available to you, (the customer), to us and to the factory in China.

Can I also receive a sample?

We can have a physical sample sent to you. We can also show samples using photos and videos.

What if the sample does not meet my expectations/specification?

If the sample is not satisfactory, we will produce a new sample based on the desired specifications and comments; this will then be the sample that serves as the basis for the bulk production.

Production

How long does a production take on average?

The production time depends on the production method and the schedule of the chosen factory. Typically, producing a mold and initial samples takes 30 ~ 40 days. Mass production often takes between 30 and 40 days. We will share the schedule with you in advance.

Are the dies my property?

Yes, the moulds remain your property. We arrange for these to go into storage outside of production time so they are protected and there is no risk of anything happening to them.

Is it possible to visit a factory from the ChinaWorks network?

Yes, regularly customers go with us to China to see how production runs or to see how the process is done prior to a production. We offer this opportunity. You are welcome to do so!

Am I at risk of my product being copied?

We place production with factories with whom we have a long-standing cooperation, they will not copy your product. We will do everything we can to protect your product. If desired, we will also sign an NDA for this.

Am I at risk of child labor at a factory where my products are produced?

No, all our partners in China are audited annually and child labor is not an issue. More importantly, our partners are professional factories that do not want to work with children.

Can you also provide material certificates so I can be sure the right material was used?

We agree in advance and ensure that material certificates are present when ordering the requested material.

What surface treatments do you offer?

Quality

What exactly do you do to ensure quality?

Beforehand, in consultation with you, we draw up a QC form with all the points that we check. We do this during and after production. But determining in advance how to produce, with what machines and what material is just as important.

Wouldn't it be better to order directly from a factory in China?

It can be done, but there are risks involved due to various factors. It can also go well with simple products, but certainly with more complex products there is a high risk of something going wrong. We know the factories and how to manage production. In addition, we can often reach better price agreements and there is an advantage in combined transport.

Suppose; we ordered a series production of a certain part from you and some parts are not good? What happens then?

We guarantee the desired quality and ensure that any rejected copies are replaced or credited.

Transport and storage

Are transportation costs included in the price?

When we send you an offer it includes delivery to 1 location in the Netherlands or Belgium. The offer is often based on sea freight. We will always specify this in our offer.

What is the average delivery time after production is completed based on ocean freight?

After the mass production is completed, the goods must be shipped to the Netherlands. In our offer we always assume the transport by sea freight. The transport time is then 5 ~ 6 weeks after completion of production.

What is the average delivery time after production is completed based on train freight?

After the mass production is completed, the goods must be shipped to the Netherlands. You can choose to ship the goods by rail at an additional cost. When the goods are shipped by rail freight the transport time is approximately 4 weeks after the completion of production.

What is the average delivery time after production is completed based on air freight?

You can also choose to send the goods by air freight at an additional cost. When the goods are sent by air freight, the transportation time is about 1 week after the completion of production.

Do I still have to pay import duties when my goods arrive in the Netherlands?

No. Our offers are free house. This means that we take care of the logistics from the factory in China to the delivery address you provide. Therefore you do not have to think about customs clearance and remittance of any import duties.

Are my parts insured, should a container fall off the ship?

Yes, all shipments from ChinaWorks are insured. So there is no need for you to worry.

Can our order be delivered in parts and stored at your place?

Yes this is possible. We have a warehouse in Zwolle, where part of your production can be stored (temporarily) or for a longer period in consultation.
